WHERE DO YOU SEE YOURSELF?

COMMUNITY CAFE:

Community Greeter

When you’ll be serving: Mondays – Fridays, 10am to 3pm.

What you will be doing: Welcoming new and returning guests into the building, signing them into the program, and creating a warm environment.

FOOD PANTRY:

Food Pantry Host

When you’ll be serving: Days and times are based on location. Please submit a form for more information. 

What you will be doing: Greeting guests that come in looking for food resources. Guiding them to our food pantry and helping them select items and carrying it for them to their car if needed. Restocking the pantry as need as well.

Aberdeen Food Giveaway Volunteer

When you’ll be serving: During our Aberdeen food giveaway, on the 2nd Tuesday of each month.

What you will be doing: There are several roles to choose from! We need extra hands to help sort & set up food, greet guests, direct traffic, and load cars. For a detailed list & to sign up, visit our SignUpGenius

SHOWERS PROGRAM:

Showers Host

When you’ll be serving: Wednesdays from 10am to 2pm in Edgewood only .

What you will be doing: Guiding the guests back to the showers, providing them with shower supplies, monitoring guests, and sanitizing showers after usage.

Front Desk Greeter

When you’ll be serving: Wednesdays from 10am to 2pm in Edgewood only .

What you will be doing: Welcoming new and returning guests into the building, signing them into the program, and creating a warm environment.

MEDIA:

Social Media

When you’ll be serving: 1-2 hours/week

What you will be doing: Create, publish, and manage content across a variety of digital platforms to share our story, promote The EPICENTER’s vision, and make an impact through digital media. Must be proficient in using Canva, Google, and social media platforms such as Facebook and Instagram. Minimum 3 month commitment.

Photographer
When you’ll be serving: For special events as called upon.

What you will be doing: Capturing photos, videos, and interviews of the incredible community moments both inside our walls and around Harford County! Must have experience in photography and be familiar with camera equipment. It is desired that you have your own camera that you can use for the mission. You don’t need to be an expert but we’d love to see some of your work to be sure you feel comfortable serving with us.

Videographer
When you’ll be serving: Flexible hours, 2-3 hrs per occasional week.

What you will be doing: Assisting the Content Producer in filming content and supporting camera work. Must have experience in videography and be familiar with film equipment. It is desired that you have your own equipment that you can use for the mission. You don’t need to be an expert but we’d love to see some of your work to be sure you feel comfortable serving with us.

Graphic Designer

When you’ll be serving: Flexible hours, 2-3 hrs per occasional week.

What you will be doing: Assisting the Director of Communications in drafting and producing designs for the team.  You will help create materials in a variety of forms: print, digital, and ordered. Must have experience using Adobe software or Canva and be comfortable selecting fonts, colors, and layouts that align with a brand guide. You don’t need to be an expert but we’d love to see some of your work to be sure you feel comfortable serving with us.

Web Designer

When you’ll be serving: Flexible hours. 1-2hrs every other week, in-person

What you will be doing: Updating dates, times, and information on our website to keep our community in the know! Also editing and crafting pages based on level of experience. Must have a background in web development or designing in WordPress and/or Wix.

I can’t think of a better way to serve my community. The EPICENTER has numerous resources to help with food and shelter. The staff and volunteers are friendly and are there if you need to talk. I finally feel like I belong somewhere.
