BACKPACK BLESSINGS
Hundreds of local elementary school children are without meals on the weekends. Together, we can prevent weekend hunger!
HOW IT HELPS
Food insecurity affects school age kids particularly hard on the weekends while away from school when free and reduced meals aren’t available.
Backpack Blessings is a great way to do good and ensure kids are fed in our local communities. Currently, this program services Harford County, Maryland schools and will soon be expanding into Baltimore County as well.
JUST LAST YEAR
More than 221,000 children in the state of Maryland faced food insecurity.
Backpack Blessings provided weekend meals to over 314 local children across five elementary schools.
Over $60,000 was donated to help feed local families.

HOW IT STARTED
Backpack Blessings began as a partnership between Mountain Christian Church, The EPICENTER and local schools designed to provide food for elementary kids on the weekends.
Through these partner organizations and generous individuals, we are able to protect the most vulnerable children in our communities from food insecurity.
